What is UNIVER.SYS, really?
The UNIVER.SYS project is my own take on the technology gijinka concept popularized in early 2000s otaku culture, and this Wiki is an expansion from my old published ideas on Moeverse. The beginnings of UNIVER.SYS started as early as the late 2010s until the early 2020s, and has since evolved into what it is today.
The general idea of UNIVER.SYS was to realize my personal vision and interests on gijinka artwork and retro technology without being restrained by pre-existing rules or centralized narratives.
Things to consider
As I am a visual artist first and foremost, I focus more on character designs rather than writing and adding worldbuilding details. While UNIVER.SYS is a sci-fi setting, not every detail in the setting nor every entity would be explained, and a number of things are left open to interpretation, at least until further details were added.
Another thing to mention is that UNIVER.SYS is its own independent project and not meant to compete or replace similar projects, both in the past and present, and is by no means an authoritative example of a technology gijinka-based project, as it is merely one among many. I've learned the hard way from developing Silicon Medley that trying to compete with or undo pre-existing works was not feasible, and it was a huge waste of time and resources.
