• Santeri represents the Sanomalaite M/90, or SANLA, a digital communication device made by Nokia for the Finnish Defence Forces in 1983.
  • Santeri Lahti itself is derived from SANLA.
• Santeri's social ineptitude and sometimes cryptic demeanor was inspired by the device's encrypted text-based communication capability and its field of use exclusively by the military and not civilians. In-universe however, he is a forest ranger instead of a military personnel.
• Santeri's red eyes and color palette are derived from Sanomalaite M/90's red display and hardware colors.

Misc.

• The name Santeri is a Finnish diminutive variant of Alexander.
• Both he and Sinikka are fans of old songs. He is surprisingly a better singer.
